After reading through a post on [info]art_theft about a guy on deviantArt who had been shown to outright steal other people's artwork on not one, not 2 or even 5 occasions. No, this gentleman has been caught 7 times! So I ask you all...Why the hell do people feel the need to steal and/or trace other people's artwork? I mean really...whatever happened to, oh I don't know...learning to actually draw on your own? I would be the very last person to make the claim that my work is anywhere near perfect, I know there's many things I need to improve on and learn to do, but at the end of the day, at least I can say I try. Is it that people are just too lazy now? Or could it be the need to be internet popular trumps actually learning how to make artwork of any kind and improving over time? You don't necessarily need to start out with the best pens, the best tablet(wacom) or anything...just try! So what do you guys think?

Why do people do this?

Okay, time to add something different to get rid of that emo crap! Okay so I know there's artists on my friends list, people who frequent deviantArt or have personal webpages for their art and all that good stuff. So I have a question for everyone, something that I've wondered about for some time now...Why is it people look at someone differenty, hell they practically look down on someone for drawing anime art? Not trying to be whiny here, I'm honestly curious. Like I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the number of times I've heard and read people say drawing anime is the "easy way" towards art and the generalizations of all anime art looking the same. I have to wonder if it's because of the fact that there's so many dubbed and translated showes and manga, an ocean of people on deviantart and similar sites who unfortunately draw badly(not claiming I'm an art goddess) when it comes to the large eyed, sparkly, shiny desu characters, that's why people brush it off? I'd love to hear people's view on this...

Always wondered about this.

Sounds from the tv!
30th-Oct-2008 02:42 pm - Happy Orange and Black Day!
Not half a minute ago I just heard on the radio that Toronto has plans to change Halloween to "Orange and Black Day" for fears that people who identify as wiccans or people of other cultures might be offended, and apparently this is becoming popular across the US as well. So I ask all of you...are we going to far, in the sake of being politically correct? And to any wiccans or people from different parts of the world...does Halloween really bother you :O? Discuss away!

(For your viewing pleasure...Comment if you dare?)

So I've been spending the last couple of hours between buying convention tickets, moderating a ragnarok online server and playing around with photoshop to make site graphics, all while listening to a few local web radio broadcasts. And I heard two really good topics for discussion...you know what this means don't you :3?

o1. Do you think there's such a thing as a bad and/or useless invention?
o2. If yes, name a few worthless ones :D!

And totally unrelated and on another show...

o1. According to studies in the UK, 20% of women are knowingly lying about their children's paternity. If a lady is proven to be a stupid whore who can't keep her legs closed and affairs in order a liar when it comes to who fathered her baby, should the guy who has been paying child support be allowed to stop payments and sever all ties with the kids?

o2.(One I just made up) Ladies, if you didn't know who fathered your kid, would you go on Maury Povich to find out XD?

Discuss away :P!
